If Chinese herbs are prescribed, the cost will vary based on the formula used and whether herbs are dispensed in pill, powder, or raw form. The average cost has been about $15/week. Certain herb formulas may be more expensive if rare ingredients are used. All of our herbs are GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified, sulfur free, and have been tested for DDT, Hexachlorabenzene, lead, arsenic, mercury, cadmium and other contaminants.
Payment methods accepted are cash, check or credit card (Visa, Mastercard).
Office Policy
Insurance
As of August 2010, we do not bill insurance companies directly with so many variables in insurance coverage and to keep our fees as low as possible for our uninsured patients. Rather, fees are paid by the patient at the time of service.
For those with insurance policies that cover acupuncture, an itemized receipt or Superbill will be provided to the patient, so that he/she can submit the claim. This Superbill contains all the necessary information required for an insurance company to process a claim.
To find out if your insurance policy or health plan covers acupuncture, you must contact your insurance provider directly. It is important to know that some health plans impose restrictions on the conditions treated and/or the number of treatments allowed in a calendar year. Some also require a referral from an M.D. Also, most plans do not reimburse for herbs or supplements. -
Workman’s Compensation, Personal Injury insurance cases, and VA insurance are accepted on a case by case basis. We do accept Flex Spending Plans.
Missed Appointment
Please notify us immediately if you are unable to make an appointment as a courtesy to the office staff and other patients who may need to come in during that time. There will be no charge if 24 hours notice is given; otherwise, the full cost of an office visit maybe charged.
